Terms of Use
Last updated: these terms apply to the current version of the service.
1. What this service is
MY DECK'S OUT is a tool for organizing and scoring private card games among people who already know each other. It is a scheduler, a scoreboard, and a ledger.
It is not a gambling service. The service does not deal cards, host or accept wagers, hold, transmit or process any player funds, take a rake or commission from any pot, or match players with strangers. All cards, chips and money exist at a physical table among people who arranged to meet.
2. Money
Any buy-in, rebuy or payout figure recorded in the service is a record of what your group agreed, not a transaction. Money changes hands in person, between the people in your game. We never receive, hold, transmit or disburse it, and we are not a party to it.
The ledger is a convenience. If your group disagrees with what it says, that is a matter between you. We do not arbitrate disputes about money.
3. Your responsibilities
By using the service you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher.
- Your game is a lawful private social game where you live. Laws about home games vary significantly between countries, states and cities, and it is your responsibility to know and follow the ones that apply to you.
- You will not use the service to operate a commercial gambling business, to take a rake, or to organize games among strangers.
- The information you record about other people is accurate, and you have their agreement to record it.
We do not provide legal advice and nothing here is legal advice. If you are unsure whether your game is lawful, take advice before you host it.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your email account secure, since sign-in links are sent there. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access.
You may not share an account, impersonate another person, or create an account for someone who has been suspended.
5. Content you add
You keep ownership of the content you add — names, notes, photographs. You grant us the permission needed to store and display it in order to run the service for you and your group.
Do not add content that is unlawful, abusive, or that infringes anyone's rights. Do not add someone's personal information without their agreement.
6. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse engineer the service, access data belonging to groups you are not a member of, or use the service to harass anyone.
We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms, or that we reasonably believe are being used unlawfully.
7. Availability
The service is provided as is and as available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. We recommend you do not rely on it as the sole record of anything that matters to you financially.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from money exchanged between players, disputes within your group, the legality of your game, or data lost through circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
