This site targets WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard referenced by the ADA and by Section 508. What that means here in practice:
- Every text colour is checked against every background it sits on and clears the 4.5:1 contrast ratio AA requires — measured, not judged by eye.
- Colour is never the only signal. Team colours on the Spades table are paired with the team number in text; the active tab carries an underline as well as a colour.
- Everything is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring and a skip link to jump straight to the content.
- Animation respects your reduce motion setting — the rotating panels change their content without the movement.
- The live table screen is designed to be read across a room, which is the same problem as being read with low vision: large type, high contrast, no thin greys.
Where it is likely imperfect. The live game screens are dense and were built for a television; the card artwork is decorative and unlabelled by design; and long tables scroll sideways on a narrow phone. If any of that stops you using the site, that is a bug and we want to know.
